Burms in Illinois
I have been thinking of getting a burm for years and never really thought about breeders because i thought "when the time comes i can get it from many great breeders." Well now because of that stupid law i can only get it from my state. Does anybody know of any reliable burm breeders in Illinois?

???
There are no poisonous snakes, only venomous.
And Burms are now on the Lacey act, means no crossing state lines with one. Or it could mean jail time.

Yeah with the new Lacey act, burms, African rocks, and two types of anacondas can't cross state lines, there might be more snakes, but this is all I can think of at the moment.

Poison venom wtvr u know The point I was putting across..
And I did not know that nor paid all that much attn to the new law. Just getting into the hobby recently..
Kinda rediculous that they can't cross state lines this far north not like a burn would ever be able to survive in grant park with a Chicago winter.
I haven't seen any at the AAE in Wheaton but the tinley park show is supposed to be big I would imagine seeing them there

They cant even survive some parts of florida. And the narbc show is big but nobody can bring burms from out of state so it doesnt really matter how big it is. I just want a healthy burm from a reliable breeder. But i havnt really heard much about breeders in Illionis.

I had a friend back in highschool who had 3 of them but that was 9 years ago and I don't think he was breeding them

Yup I did, just correcting you now, so you don't get crazy looks from fellow herpers if you say poisonous to them.
And yeah it's complete crap that they are on the Lacey act now. It's just politicians that know nothing on the subject but just want their name on a bill.

I'm sure it's frowned upon but u could possibly find one in WI or IN or something that's still tiny and smuggle it in haha I don't see your avg state trooper being able to identify it even if they do know the laws on them

Yes it's possible. But not worth the risk, and it would further give our hobby a bad name.
Side note, we're not allowed to advocate illegal acts on here.
