    My snakes don't smell!

So, I have a bit of a roommate issue with my snakes. She complains that there is a smell in our room now that we have more snakes than before. I agreed with her before and have been working on getting rid of it. I removed all substrate (that's what it smelled like) and have replaced everything with brand new tubs and paper towels. I've sprayed the room, left the windows open and done everything I can to disinfect, etc. I have the nose of a bloodhound and can literally smell the smallest traces of anything and there is no longer any scent in our room. However, my roommate disagrees and is not happy. I think she walks in now expecting it, so she always thinks she smells it. But, it case my dog-like nose is betraying me, what else can I do??

It also probably wasnt helped by the rat one of my snakes left behind a few days ago, but that is obviously gone.

Please help, cause she might kill me lol.

The easiest fix and getting a new roommate that likes snakes.

It probably won't matter what you do. They are probably going to complain regardless.

Maybe one of the plug in things that says it kills odors.

    My snakes don't smell!

Left over rats are the worst odor ever. A left over rat in a tub can turn bad extremely quickly lol. Such a bummer my gf did the same thing. Good luck with that sounds like a pain in the bleeeeep. If she's not your gf. Who cares on to the next one.

Haha, unfortunately I can't get rid of her for another 72 days when we graduate (yes...im counting down the days) and I can gtfo of here! She agreed and was even excited about me getting more, so I feel like she needs to deal. I definitely like the idea of one of the plug-in things, though. Thanks!

Carpet fresh on the floors every morning will really help the staleness, If she still complains start breeding Rats & Mice that will totally send your roommate over the EDGE! lol

Don't even need to start breeding them! Just get a pair of same-sex mice and let the smell do the rest.

Try one of those odor absorbing jells or baking soda packs (like the ones you put in a fridge). They work great.

    Re: My snakes don't smell!

Try picking up Arm and Hammer carpet powder - I use it at my apartment because I have close to 60 animals living in there, and I like it to smell nice. No issues with the animals and you can't tell that I have them. I vacuum about once a week, so I put the powder down, leave it for 15 minutes, then just go around the apartment. Multiple people have remarked that you can't tell how many animals I have in my apartment (well, until you see the cages), so there's that.

Plug ins and/or candles can also be very very helpful.
