    New Incubator

Well my season is going well and my 10 females have all been locking so I figured it was time to upgrade my old incubator. My old incubator was cooler that I built and my new one is a 50 bottle wine rack. I wired in 11" flexwatt, PC fan and 2 L.E.D strips wired to a toggle switch all powered by a Helix thermostat.

I also recieved my Herpstat4 the other day. Pretty stoked this thing is great!

Here are a few pics of my snake room while I am at it. My AP rack, 2 Racks I made from shelves from Home Depot one holds 28qt tubs and the other is 6qt(Both still empty I just made them while being bored one day.). 2 melamine racks that I have been using for years.

Thanks for looking. I Just figured I would share since I am playing the good ol waiting game.....Come on eggs

Nice looking incubator! I considered using a wine cooler for mine but opted for a marine cooler instead, as this will be my first go 'round with eggs if the gravid import I bought ever lays. Nice looking set-up all the way around and good luck with your season!

    Re: New Incubator

Very nice snake room and incubator looks great. Love the interior light. I have beverage cooler which is same item, but different shelves. 1 possible point to ponder: I think putting 6 clutches into the incubator using 2 racks at lowest locations will max it out. If you're breeding 10 girls... I'd suggest putting as many containers in as you plan and checking for fit and operation. Again...NICE WORK !

When I was building it I test fit it with 8 tubs in it. The kicker is not many bottles of water will fit. I still have my old cooler bator if by some reason the snake gods shine on me and all of my girls go this year!

Same issue here. I have replaced the glass shelves with cut to fit coated wire ones so the air flow is even. I put 2-6 qt. tubes on each of them and have been testing for 6 weeks. Then it dawned on me.... why am I testing with 4 tubs when I'm pairing up 5 females ? !!
I have been adding different water bottle sizes as the family finishes drinks (lol), but looks like I'll go buy a case of 20oz. water and lay them across the floor. I mean, I spend more than the $4 that water will cost on a single temp/humidity guage

Best of luck to you and I wish you much success !
