Good size or underfed?
I got a female ball python and she is about 4 months old. She weighs about 100 grams. Is this good? Or is she supposed to be bulkier?

Definitely should be weighing in heavier.
Reach for the stars, and if you don't grab them at least you'll fall on top of the world.

She is definitely underweight. We purchased a 2 month old from a breeder and she weighed 160g. Is she eating for you?

Try feeding her every 4-5 days. My hatchlings are slamming back rap pups at that rate and are easily gainng 100 grams a month

Re: Good size or underfed?
I feed my girls twice a week, and they're both about two months sitting at 180g last I weighed.

I've said it before...and I'm saying it again. You guys must be feeding your snakes McDonalds! I can't imagine what 'power-feeding' looks like, then...

Re: Good size or underfed?
Haha something like that. I feed closer to the 15 percent of body weight measure than I do the 10 percent.

I'm switching my guy to every 5 days. Leaning towards 15%, as well. I have been up to 20%, at times.

Re: Good size or underfed?
While everyone is saying the snake is underweight, that may not be the case. It could be a slow grower, just pooped, etc.
Can you post a picture of your snake? Your snake should have a full look to it and not a "triangular" look. For example, here's a picture of my normal the day I got her. She was 6 months old and only 44g (Yes, 44g). Now she weights 550g and looks amazing. there's a before and after to show you the difference.
This picture is small, but even at such a small picture size, you can see her spine and she clearly has a triangular shape. This was taken in early July:

This next picture was taken right before Christmas when she was about 400g. You can see her spine and see how she's filled out:

Like I said above, snakes can grow at different rates and whether or not they've eaten or pooped can play a huge role in how much they actually weigh. So, post up a picture of your snake and we can tell you if it's a healthy weight or it could be beefed up a bit. Also, what are you feeding your snake and how often? Too small of a feeder size and feedings pretty spread out can cause slow growth.
