Feeding issue

I have a few ball pythons that were constantly taking frozen/thawed rat pups. They both all of a sudden stopped and have not eaten for going on three weeks. How long should I wait before giving them live?

Its the winter. All my balls do the same thing. I have a male that is 1200g and has not ate since 11/15/12 but has stayed the same weight. Its like there hibernating. I would watch the snake very closely and make sure it is keeping good size. If you have a scale that's even better. Also try to feed in the dark. My snakes will sometimes times not take the rat when there is light on the room.

As long as your temps and humidity are correct then your snakes just might not be hungry. As long as they dont lose weight they should be fine. I have a mojave that refused a few meals when i first got him and then he ate a rat pup but not too convincing. The next week i gave him a mouse hopper and it seemed that the movement is what got him real excited and went after him fast. Also i feed in the morning with the lights on. It just depends on your snakes. Try different things and see what works for you.

Ya I have noticed with mine movement is big if they really aren't that hungry.. Last weeks feeding I was about to pull the asf out cuz she hadn't taken it after 25min when I went to pick it up it ran across the cage and past her hide.. Bad move by the. Lil guy as she jumped out and snagged him.. Then tonight's feeding I threw in and it was running back n fourth right away and she ate him up no problems..

Good luck getting yours to eat I prefer live cuz the whole zombie dance thing and having to prep her food annoys me at just the thought of having to do it

The female is 350 g and the male is 125 g. I do not know if I should hold Northrop week and try f/t again or if I should just go itch live.

If mine refuses f/t after 10 minutes, I'll make the little guy "run" around the cage a bit and then that peaks his interest.

When did they last shed/defecate? Is it possible they are off due to a shed cycle, or needing to poo? Have they lost any weight since stopping eating?
