    VPI pink panther caramel albino

this one took a while, but I'm fairly content with the decision. VPI pink panther caramel albino.
I don't have any grand plans to breed boas on a large scale, but she'll be paired up with my male het Kahl albino in a few years. I really do love my royals, but aside from my indigos, this is one of those snakes I just can't stop looking at.

OMG.... That is one sweet boa. I may just have to add one of these to my own want list.... Congrats on the amazing pickup!

thanks. aesthetically speaking, she's pretty damn amazing. and so far, she has a great disposition as well. VPI was also great to deal with, which was hardly a surprising revelation. I'm really looking forward to the point when she's as long as I am tall. I don't keep that many boas, so I am pretty excited.

Just curious as I haven't done much research on these guys, is the VPI caramel compatable with the kahl line? What will you get with this pairing? Albinos or T+ albinos (caramels) or both? Thanks for the info - just trying to keep it straight, lol....

I had the same thought and Tracy was good enough to confirm my mental punnet squares. caramel albinos aren't compatible with kahl/sharp albinos as it's a different form of albinism. this particular lady paired with my male het (coral) albino would produce a litter of pink panthers or normals that are 100% het caramel and 50% het kahl albino. ball pythons are my wheelhouse, so I have no idea whether that particular double recessive has been done or even what it would look like. either way, it's my eventual goal.

Yeah, doing punnet squares in my head gives me a migraine.....

I didn't figure they were "compatible" since, as you pointed out, they are different forms of albinism, but I'd never thought of putting a T+ to a regular albino and it was intriguing and got me wondering if it was possible. Thanks!

She sure is gorgeous - definitely going to have to get me one.....
