    Facebook Username Issues/unavailable

So, in another thread I mentioned I was getting a bit upset that every username I picked was "Unavailable" according to facebook, but when I checked the link, nothing came up. (username is when you set your page to something like www.facebook.com/wildroseexotics rather than a bunch of numbers that it defaults to)

First, I would like to say that if you know nothing about what I am talking to, but have a facebook page / business fb page, you can go to www.facebook.com/username to set up your address.

Now, if you run into the problem that I had, I found the form to contact facebook directly and have them check out why the name is saved. I tried wildroseexotics, WRexotics, WREX (too short ), and because this is a permanent thing (only allowed one change, ever) I didn't want to settle for something silly like WREX321 etc. I wanted something that was easy to remember (like the dang name).

So! If it says your name is unavailable, and you type into the address bar "www.facebook.com/whatever-name-you-wanted" and no page comes up, fill out this form and hope for the best! Mine was approved and switched in less than 24hrs!!

Hope this helps at least someone out there

Why bother? Well, in my opinion, adding a username makes things much simpler for your customers, not to mention you can now put that on your business cards as well as your website. It looks good to have www.facebook.com/wildroseexotics on the business card, easy enough to type in. Now, if you wanted to put your default in...it would look something like this http://www.facebook.com/wild-rose-ex...29465193563645 (Not an actual link, so no clicky.)
