Help! I have blue balls!
Somehow I got lucky... both my spider and my normal are on the exact same shed cycle and are both all blued up. I have noticed though that they seem to be very lethargic. Ambient is about 80, cool side 76-77, and warm side around 85. Humidity around 50% normally but misting during she'd between 60%-70%. I know now is winter and mating season with the shedding.
Do your balls get lethargic during shed?

Re: Help! I have blue balls!
First of all, your title made me giggle!
Secondly, mine will find themselves a hide and won't move from there. They can't see very well and are easily stressed so you will find them hunkered down somewhere where they feel safe and secure. They will stay there until they shed and are no longer vulnerable to other predators. I wouldn't worry about them unless they are still lethargic after they shed.

Re: Help! I have blue balls!
Hi,
Why are you using those temps?
We would normally recommend cool side 82f and hot spot 92f.

Help! I have blue balls!
Have to have a little fun!
I expect my Normal to shed any day now as she's been blue since last weekend. My spider entered blue a couple days after. She's normally very active and inquisitive and has just seemed to curl up in her hide and hangs there.
Just wanted to double check as like everyone here, just want the best for my girls...thanks!

They both do have a basking area of 90. If I turn them up any more they just hang out on the cool side and won't go near their warm side. Both of them. Once I bumped down a bit, they both went back to using their entire enclosures.

Re: Help! I have blue balls!
Well it IS Valentines day, so tell your significant other to... whoa, wait, nevermind, that's not what you meant.
I'd also up your temps and just wait out the shed.

My normal male usually doesnt act too differently when he is in shed. Maybe a little less active than usual but thats not saying much. MY spider is in shed now and he has not came out at all.

Re: Help! I have blue balls!
My blue balls always vary, and are often more active than others. Typically, they get quite and don't move from their hide and warm spot until the shed cycle is complete. I wouldn't be too worried. Your cool sides seem a bit overly cool to me, but as long as they have a nice 90 or hot spot I wouldn't stress too much :-) Best title ever though!

Hahaha! I had to get the laugh out first. But when mine are in shed they either curl up in their hide or get under the paper lining I have abs don't move much at all. I wouldn't worry.
