need to know if royal python ok

Last night I went to bed checked my royal and everything was normal.
I couldn't sleep so at 3:00am I thought I'd check him what I saw was that he was on the cold side but the hot sidewas reading 42oc. I soon found out he had completly unearthed his thermostat for yhe heat mat

I don't really understand your post. 42oc? What was the result of him unearthing the thermostat? Did it get warmer or colder?
Whatever happened, if it is bad, check for any injury on your royal python.

42 degrees Celsius, which is around 107f I believe.

If the thermostat probe was dislodged, (get it out of the cage btw, this is why we recommend putting it under the tank between the heatsource and the bottom of the tank) the heat would be unregulated and thus go way up. Possibly causing burns to your python. Check it's belly for signs of burns, but hopefully he didn't rest on it long before you found him. Fix the problem placement and consider it lucky you woke up when you did.
