Free BP on craiglist, should I?

States He is a Male Pastel, 3 years old, 2 feet long ??? seems really small for 3 years old. Free to a good home.

Kinda skittish on bringing a free pet home to where I keep all my other beauties!

What do you guys think?

Kinda hoped it was a female because 2/4 of my tubs are males and I need to fill the other 2 with females haha, maybe I should pop and double check

He eats live mice....one a week
Very friendly, not timid, likes to be loved!!!
I've been the only owner....bought him from Aquariums West when he was only a couple of months old
Includes: vivarium, rock, log, water bowl, light with ceramic bulb, heat lamp, aspen substrate (note that he will soon need a larger vivarium to accommodate his growth)

from that lighting he looks like a decent pastel, and for free you wouldn't be losing out on anything. just make sure you quarantine him and i see no problems with it. he might be small just because he hasn't been fed regularly, which wouldn't be surprising if the person is just giving away the snake on craigslist.

I agree with creeping he looks good specially for free ha, size is most likely the mice I know my normal boy was small until I learned to get him off of mice on on rats then boom grew fast. Pop him double check make sure no problems that are standing out at you and if he looks good in person grab him up you can always build another rack and hey why not a rack for males and a rack for females haha

Mine is only 7 months old and is noticeably bigger than that. It seems suspicious to me that a 2 year old snake who eats once a week would be that small. I'd guess that either the person giving it away is either not the original owner as stated, and is regurgitating information that he/she was given, or is flat out lying about....something. I don't know what because I'm by no means an expert. The given age doesn't seem to match the picture and there's usually a reason people give things away that they could typically charge for.

Just seems like that's how it was with my boy I couldn't figure him out 2 an half years old about that size I was feeding him mice like petco said too, than I joined here got him on rats and he started growing good so the mice would be my guess if he's not plain old lying lol

Yeah Ill have to at least do an in person viewing, but its super sketchy to me, what worries me is should I take a snake on and later it shows signs of sickness, vet + $$ spent

And at that weight it could be signs of it starving to death due to crypto

Or it could just be me being very over protective of my current babies! xD

Crypto I always space that out long night ha. The vet bills are always a X factor I just took in four neglected girls off Craigslist all not great shape the person was breeding so I told them I will take their girls so since they came from one place their all in their own brand new qt rack and soon as my scale comes in ill be doing weekly weights until I know they are good. Sorry got off track a bit lol

i was looking on craigslist just yesterday and ran across 2 or 3 posts for balls and they all said their snake was on a regular monthly feeding schedule, "as they should." poor snakes. lol maybe i love eating too much.. if it were me, i'd go take a look at it at least. while a lot of times there are people giving away junk for free on craigslist, you do run across the occasional steals. worst case scenario: you lose time over driving to see a sick snake. best case scenario: you get there, the snake seems to be healthy, and the guy just doesnt know much about balls and doesnt have the desire to keep them so he cares to make no money off it as long as it goes to a good home.. and maybe you even find out the pastel is a female. and she was free. lol like i said, as long as you quarantine it properly you shouldnt have to worry about the rest of your babies.
