    would this incubator idea work?

I want to take a full sized fridge/freezer unit and have the freezer still work as a freezer and the fridge run as an incubator. Would something like this work and can someone point me to where I'd go to get instructions

    would this incubator idea work?

I could be wrong, but I believe the freezer also cools the fridge, so you would have to find some way to successfully internally block the air that it circulated from the freezer to the fridge, to start with. And I think the coils run the full length, so you would have to modify that, which means being licensed in HVAC. Sounds like a major pain in the booty to me!

Would it be possible? Sure, but the amount of technical knowledge and effort required just doesn't make it very feasible. You would honestly be better off starting from scratch than trying to modify an existing system. You would be much better off with two separate units.

This is very possible, depending on the style of your fridge/freezer. With the fridge/freezer I converted into an incubator this could have been easily accomplished. With mine, the freezer section is vented into the fridge section to cool the section. The use of a little great stuff expanding foam would have easily plugged the hole and allowed me to do what you are wanting to do. I converted the freezer to an incubator already and when I need the space for more clutches, I will convert the fridge section as well. I started with the freezer due to it being more insulated.

    Hope this helps,

    John
