having some questions about the breeding cycle

i've been having good luck on locks for the last 2 months starting from november 1st. i was told not to drop the hot spot temperatures. today i read some threads on the website and seen people are already getting their females the glow and ovulations. my females are still wondering around looking like they're hungry. should i stop pairing or stop in a few months.

I totally agree with the previous poster. Also, just because BPs are moving around their enclosure doesn't mean they're hungry.

We keep our hot spots 87F 24/7

We got one ovulation 4 weeks ago and one yesterday.
We should be expecting eggs in about 2 weeks.

Keep pairing and hoping. I find not thinking about it all day,everyday (like i did at first) helps the time pass. Let them do their thing.

Don't worry about what other females are doing. I have had clutches laid in every month of the year and all my snakes are kept in the exact same conditions. They go when they want to not when the internet says they will Just keep pairing until ovulation or eggs. Patience is the key ingredient to successful ball python breeding.

so do you house the pair together 24/7 until ovulation or eggs, ? and after putting them together on average about how long until ovulation or eggs?

No you should give the male a break. I would say 2-3 days paired and the rest of the week off. Keep doing that until you see the ovulation. Once they ovulate, there is no point putting the male in because the eggs are already fertilized.

Also, when I see a lock that female is good for a few weeks. I don't introduce a male until three weeks have passed since the last lock. If I get a female bred once a month I'm happy. I think a lot of people over breed which leads to skinny males, etc.

good point. I usually pair mine when A.I remember B.No one is in shed C.They haven't just eaten or are about to eat D. The weather outside is crappy.

This evens out to about once or twice a month.
