    Shedding Help

    Hi guys,

I did post last night but can't seem to find the thread again!! *Noob*

I've got a lovely little spider and he shed suddenly yesterday. He has a warm hide and a wet hide, he spent a lot of time over the past few days in his wet hide, but he didn't shed in one. His tail was still left on him, so I gave him a warm bath and gently eased the skin off. I've got Shed Aid, which I will use next time (when I say surprise sec, I thought I had a week left!) and the humidity of the tub is perfect.

    Does anyone have any tips?

    Thanks

When you notice the first signs of a shed bump the humidity up. Also during the shed having moist moss (or whatever you use) in all hides will help make sure it has a good shed. The most important part is noticing the signs of a coming shed quickly. Its hard to catch up on needed humidity.

Doesn't sound like your shed was bad. If your snake is new to you it may not have been in the proper humidity before and with you providing the proper environment it will do fine in the future.

    Re: Shedding Help

Thanks a lot! He has only been with us 2 weeks now, before that he was just in a hatchling tub with a bit of moss and towel so that might be the issue!

his wet hide has damp moss in it all the time. He's now out and about again, I'm guessing waiting for feeding tomorrow .

    Thanks again
