1st Clutch of 2013
What size tub are you using for an egg box? I'm expecting a big clutch from my 3000gram girl. Also, are the lines on the eggs just to mark which way is up?

The tubs do not state a volume on the lable, but they are sterilite #1965, 14"x11"x6.25". The reason I picked these tubs was because I have 2 females that are about 4000 grams and I am expecting large clutches from them.
The tub setup consists of a very wet vermiculite/water mix, a light diffuser that I cut to fit the tub, then sealed with press-n-seal under the container lid.
Yes, the marks on the eggs are only so I can verify that the original orientation is maintained. The marks were made with a sharpie marker.
I hope this helps.

Thank you very much! This really did help. I just recently picked up my vermiculite and I'm going to get my bator up and running in the next couple of days to make sure everything is in working order.
Congrats on a big healthy clutch of eggs!

Man that's so cool I can't wait I've had numerous locks since November I've seen building signs I think but no movies yet unless I missed them. But I don't know how I would I handle them every day. Its my first breeding season and I'm just guessing on everything except locks they are very obvious

Just try to be patient, it will happen. I started pairing in October and that is my first clutch on the ground. I only have one other female that has ovulated. The rest are still building and breeding.
