How long has the lump been there? If its been more than a couple of hours I would take it to a vet.. There was a person who came here just a few weeks ago with a snake that only half swallowed its prey and it got stuck in its throat. It died a few days later.

Perhaps the vet can induce a regurgitation? I'm not really sure what they would do in this situation. Are you sure the snake swallowed a big chunk of substrate?

    Unhappy Re: swallowed repti-bark?!

Thats the thing. I work 12 hr nights so i dunno how long its been there, hes out and about at nights.
And what the heck else could it be? I havent fed him in 6 days.
He seems fine but its driving me crazy because i only noticed it now that im off.
He seems fine and all but im about to lose my mind.

The vet said they would endiscope and pull it out and a bunch of other crap. All i heard was "this will be a buttload of money for something that a monkey could do"
Basically 80 bucks for someone to tell me theres a problem and 300 to get an x-ray and take tweezers and yank something out.

Two choices. Suck it up and see the vet or feed it and hope it disappears. I was leaning toward just leave it on the last thread like this, the one with the stuck pinky in its throat, but it died so that shows you how much I know.

Having a pet means spending money on vet bills. I would take the snake to the vet anyways. While you're there you can get a fecal done and stuff like that. All because yiu feel like it is an easy job it doesn't mean it is... exotics are expensive when it comes to vet bills. Make sure they are experienced with herps as well. Were you expecting it to be cheap?
