    Flewatt tape size question

Running belly heat for a rack already have 4 inch tape on 4 shelves run by a herpstat intro. I'm addind two more shelves for 34qt. The Tubs 24 inches long, could I add two shelves with 12 inch tape, on the same thermostat?

    Flewatt tape size question

For 34q tub just keep going with the 4" so you can keep it all on one t-stat.
The 12" tape would be overkill for a tub that small.

That's what I was thinking. I had ordered 4" with connectors attached but package came with 12" now I have to ship it back and wait for the 4", and I have a snake I need to get in a tub. Oh well.

So one of your little guys is upgrading or you got a new snake? Just in case it is the latter, I strongly reccomend buying a new snake after you have everything completley set up, not before, to prevent things like this from happening.

I strongly prefer to use one thermostat only for runs of heat tape that are the same size, length, and running the same setup (same container, same substrate, target temp, etc).

Running different heat tape widths off of the same thermo or heat control is going to give you a different end temp result, and that can be problematic, or straight up dangerous.

Reptile basics made it right fast as they could. The 4" is on the way. RB is a good company and I new Rich would make it right. They get all my business.
