    Re: Pre- Ovulation Shed?

I dont believe in pre ovulation sheds. Ive had females shed anywhere from 2 weeks to over two months before they ovulated. Save yourself a headache and dont start counting until ovy!

It really depends on how often that particular snake sheds.
If she sheds every 12 weeks like many large females do, then the ovy will be about 9 weeks after pre-ov shed.
Typically the ovy is about 3 weeks before the prelay shed

Not sure why people find the preov shed so all over the place, every single female I've bred for years has done the normal cycling of breeding, building, shedding, building more, preov shed, glow, ovy then prelay shed then lay.

Not one female in 40 or more clutches has done anything different than her normal shed cycle
