    Constipated BP :(

    Hi,

I'm new to the forum, so sorry if this question has been asked a million times already. It has been about a month since she has pooped, and i'm starting to worry a little bit. We don't have the money for a vet, so this will have to be treated at home. How much longer can she go before it is considered a serious problem? I tried soaking her in warm water for 15 minutes 3 days ago and yesterday, but nothing happened. I think the last time she pooped was December 17-18th. She has eaten a few mice since then, so i know she must be due for a poop! What can i do to get her to go? Or should i just monitor her for now?

Ball pythons can go longer than a month without pooping so don't worry about it. If your ball python is constipated, you'll notice the area near the end of the tail is always straight and doesn't bend much when they move. That's from the buildup of poop but if your snake is moving and acting fine, don't worry about it.

I would not worry about it too much. Most of my balls dont poop but once a month when they shed, its normal. Wait till she sheds out and if it doesnt happen around that time, then you can worry.

Thanks She hasn't shed in a couple of weeks, so she should be due for one soon.

    Re: Constipated BP :(

Another user on here had a BP that didn't poop for 5 months. Don't worry about it. If she poops when she sheds, that's good. If not, give it another month or more before you start worrying
