    Mojave color

Do mojaves change color over time? I have a mojave but he doesnt look like older mojaves. He is bright but the brown doesnt look like that of older mojaves. Is it that they are just a different color or will my snake change color too?

    Re: Mojave color

Mine has gone from olive-toned with lots of yellow to more of a milk-chocolate color. She's still under a year, so who knows where she'll end up.

I've seen a lot of them change colour to different degrees as they age. Some of them retain a very gold/brown colouration but I've also seen a lot of snakes that fade out a lot to a more tan on tan colour.

I think my female has aged well. She's a lot more pale, but still bright.
She's blushed out a lot more since being a baby. And the blushing has gone from a nice burgundy tone to looking like someone went over her with a yellow highlighter.

I'm not too fond of the more brown toned mojaves, which is why I picked up a predominantly black baby with little to no blushing on her back. I like the high contrast between the blacks and yellows.

Here is my females baby picture.

    Here she is now.

And here's a male I picked up last year from the same breeder. Can you tell why I got him?

Anyone have any more insight into mojave's color change? Does the yellow brown out or lighten after some time? My breeder just hatched this clutch 2 weeks ago. If I get one, I am hoping the yellow lightens or browns out. (I love all the morphs, but my wife has a phobia of bees and can't see black and yellow together (weird I know)).
