I just moved my baby ball to a glass aquarium and I know that they are harder to heat and keep humid but I have a heat mat regulated by a thermostat and the hot spot is correct, but I cant get the ambient temperature or humidity to stabilize, I have two heat lamps with 60w bulbs the day light stays on till about 7pm and they infrared is always on but I cannot get the temps to the mid 80s even if both lamps are on, do I just need higher wattage or what? and also no matter how much I mist and I have a towel on a portion of the screen top my humidity is constantly dropping into the 40s, I find myself misting all day long to just have it drop back down in an hour or so when the heat lamps dry it up, I was thinking about switching from aspen to eco earth substrate, and suggestions? and also with the ecoearth will I have to feed out of the tank or is it no different from feeding on aspin? Pics below, Thanks for any advice! my hotspot may look a little warm but the probe is stuck to the bottom of the glass underneath the substrate so I have to compensate a tad.
Top is hot spot, Bottom left is ambiant, and bottom right is humidity. I got the ambient up a little bit to 79 but cant get it higher
