Stubborn male
This is my first year breeding balls and i seem to have a stubborn male.I have been introducing him to my female for over a month now and he has not shown any interest in her at all.Last night i introduced a diffrent male to her and they locked up immediatlly. So i guess my question is do you come accross males that just don't breed or are there tricks to stimulating him?I have no use for a male that won't breed, what should i do?

How did you introduce another male? Leaving males together in a tub for 15-20mins usually helps. You can also try cooling him down a bit to see if that will get him going. I have also heard putting two females with the male sometimes helps but I have never done that.

How big is the male?
What temperatures do you keep him at?
Have you tried pairing him as soon as the female sheds?
Ever try leaving the females shed in with her and then introducing the male?
Are you feeding him and then trying to pair him, or are you giving him rest after feeding?
Are you pairing him after the female just ate, or are you giving her time to digest a bit?
Are you leaving him in with her when it's obvious she's not willing?
There's a ton of things that can effect whether a pairing will happen or whether it won't.
Timing is important, there are times that they just won't be locking up, it's part of the learning curve of breeding these snakes.

Re: Stubborn male
He is over 2000 grams deffinatly old enough and he has only eaten once in the last month and a half. The female is just starting to go into blue right now so i will put him back in after she sheds and we will see what happens.I put a diffrent male in with her yesterday and they locked up right away so she seems to be willing.

Re: Stubborn male
Hi,
Do you have any other breedable females he likes?
Putting all three in the tub might help.
