    NOOB- Bruiser's cold!

Long time listener, first time caller. Love the show...

It's cold like a mother in Los Angeles this year and the heater in my apartment is broken! Fortunately, my dog keeps me warm but my poor buddy, Bruiser, doesn't quite have that luxury. I noticed his cage dropped in temp tonight to 70. I know, bad mommy! I have to get to the shop tomorrow to pick up an additional bulb so here's my question:

Should I get another heat bulb (currently use 1 50 watt heat bulb now and a UV) OR should i get a stronger wattage bulb to replace the 50 watt?
OR should I get infrared or ceramic?
I know ceramics can get pricey and I would imagine there is a risk of jacking up the humidity levels.

I've only had the dude for a little over a week, I love him and i would prefer not to turn him into a popsicle.

HELP ME OBI WON, YOU'RE MY ONLY HOPE.

Just a hint as to what i do. (cost saving) I put Aluminum foil around my cage and on the mesh screen and then when its too cold i put a towel on top of the cage to trap the heat in. It works like a charm. I'm in Kansas and the weather is terribly cold. So hopefully this helps and keeps your cost down. Even if you dont have a mesh top like i do hopefully this helps with your setup.

Were the ambient temps what dropped or was it the temp at the warm spot?

To the "first responder," where in KS are you located? I never had temperature issues when I was in Leavenworth for 7 years.

    Re: NOOB- Bruiser's cold!

My digital reader says 70ish. I have a heat pad under his hide, he's been in there most of the day anyway since he just fed.
