finally settling in/to feed or not to feed?

Got my first snake on Sunday and every night he comes out and frantically tries to get out. He usually comes out around 9:20 and by the time I wake up at 6am he's hiding again. He's never roaming about in the day. Only at night. Anyway It's a little over 10pm right now and he hasn't come out yet. Is this a sign of him finally getting comfortable? Also, I was going to try feeding him on Saturday but I'm not sure if I should give him another week to settle in some more. Thoughts?

I'd go ahead and try it. The worst that can happen is he refuses the meal.

Go for it...I normally feed on the first or second day I get a snake in. Most take it, some don't...and it's rare one will need an extended settling in period before feeding.

I'd offer it to him now, like pp said the worst that can happen is he refuses it. If he eats it hooray and if he doesn't wait a few days and try again. =)

Re: finally settling in/to feed or not to feed?

just got my first one about a month ago, and he did the same thing. I waited a week after getting him and tried feeding him he didnt eat it, so i waited 3 days and tried again, and he still wouldnt take it....3 days later tried again and he finally took it! now he has ate 4 times since i had him and he grabs it as soon as it goes in...good luck!
