    Placement of thermometer probe?

Just wondering if people place the probe for the thermometer inside the snakes terrarium or on the outside? Where is the best location for the probe? And do you put it on the hot or cold side?

    Thanks

The thermometer probe needs to go on the inside of the cage on the hot side. The thermostat probe should be on the outside directly on the Heat pad (if that is hat you are using)

The whole point of a thermostat is to make sure the heat source does not over heat and kill your animal. Therefore you must put the probe just above the heat source.
If it detects temperature that is too hot it will turn the heat source off.
Here is a picture of my thermostat and thermometer probes, which are just outside my 'hot side' hide:

Make sure the thermostat probe is not inside the enclosure, the only probe that is ok to be on the inside is a probe from the thermometer.
