Bumping up feeder size; nervous mama!
Magnus gets his food size bumped today-- moving from large hoppers to small rats. He's 2'0" and seems underweight, but a great eater and really active. Seems like he needs the bigger size. The rat meets the standard guidelines-- slightly thicker than he is at his widest point-- but it's just so much LONGER than anything he's had before. He's never refused a feeding, so I'm not expecting today to be any different... I'm just nervous!
Any tips for a nervous owner?

Update on feeding:
He was more eager to feed today than I've ever seen him! He usually doesn't go into a full coil, but he wrapped around that thing like it's the last meal he'll ever see, and sniffed it eagerly for a while after the first strike. This is the most enthusastic for a meal I've ever seen him. He seems to be taking it down just fine, but my heart's still beating pretty hard.

The general rule is weigh your snake and take 10-15% of its body weight and thats how heavy your feeder should be. For example, an 100 gram baal may eat a ten gram hopper every 5-7 days.
