    Hi Everyone!

Hi Everyone! I've been lurking this forum for a few months now but today I decided to jump in! I love all the advice and knowledge this forum gives, simply fantastic!

Twenty years ago I purchaced my first Ball Python (Slinky) and I'll tell you the little guy has been my best friend ever since. Throughout the last 20 years it never occured to me to breed "Slinky". I kept him in a fishtank with aspen and uv heatlamp (like everyone else new to the hobby) and fed him live medium rats. I feel somewhat guilty now because for most of his life I was doing his husbandry wrong. About a year and a half ago I learned about all the different Ball Python Morphs and everything I'd been doing wrong. I've always loved him held him often but never gave thought to why he often shed incomplete and how I could have better set up his enclosure.

    Fast forward

I built a DIY rack with a VE-100 Thermostat. I now have 7 BP and feed F/T. They all are happy and healthy eating and complete shedding. My love for Royal Pythons is renewed and thank you everyone for your knowledge and advice on properly keeping these beautiful animals. =) I keep a record book of everything now for each snake and practice QT. Here in a couple years when my females are up to weight I plan on breeding them. I have several pictures and I will post some asap!

    Welcome to the forum

Don't feel bad for not knowing proper husbandry. The fact that after 20 years you had no problems admitting you were wrong and changed it speaks volumes!

I wish all the luck in the world on your breeding ventures! Patience is key and don't get discouraged! Breeding can and will be very rewarding for you
