Got a call from a friend, her ball python's stomach was bleeding, she said. Thinking maybe she had scratched herself or something, I went to the friend's house after picking up some betadine and polysporin at the store.
Come to find out, the snake has been burned from what I can see. She's not bleeding, her scales have been burned off and she's pink and red and raw on her belly.
And she still had stuck shed everywhere...
I haven't messed with the stuck shed--it doesn't want to come off, even after I soaked her. I'll keep soaking her and see how it goes.
She ate a day ago so she's alright...I hope. She also peed today after her soak.
I've yet to soak her in the betadine but I'm going to put the polysporin on. I don't want to stress her out anymore...
I took her home to make sure she'll be ok. She'll stay here for a few days and then go back. She was on paper towels in a glass tank with an extremely hot heat mat. I think she got burned.![]()
