First post.. First bp coming soon

Well I've been lurking around here for a couple weeks now. Im going to be purchasing a bp in the next couple weeks from my local expo.. For now she will be just a pet but I do have intentions of breeding in the future.

Couple. Concerns I have being a newb to the morPhs is I don't want to get played and buy something that isn't.. I was at the last show 2 weeks ago very il informed looking at a couple lessers. I found this site and kingsnake for verifying price range and I've done. Lot of research but I still have a hard time seeing slight diff between Mojave normal lesser and such.. Any newb tips to be sure I don't spend 2-300$ on a 20$ normal?

Btw so far I love this site I've learned so much already

Welcome! To be honest, I don't know how you could ever confuse the three. If you aren't sure, then you should probably pass because it is likely a poor example of the morph, anyway. Which expo are you looking at attending? You can search the faunaclassifieds.com BOI for feedback on the vendors that will be there, so you know who to talk to. Good luck in your search!

So cal would b much better the. Chicago.. Its awfully cold. And since mention that the expo is about a 15 min drive from my house I don't want my new girl getting sick any good way to keep her warm on the ride or just wrap her up and stick he by the heater vent

The only two on that vendor list that I've seen before are Mark Petros Reptiles and Special K Reptiles (Tim Koppenhofer). I haven't done any business with either of them, but they have listed some beautiful animals on Kingsnake in the past. Try searching the BOI for any of those vendors to give you an idea of others' experiences. Most of the time that someone gets a falsely-represented animal, it was a CL-type or pet store deal, not a show vendor.

Add: A 15-min drive isn't going to hurt your girl. If you're comfortable, she'll be fine for that short of a period.

I kept my girl in my jacket on the ride home. Don't put her next to the heater. Keeping her on your lap will probably be okay for that short ride

Ya I've recognized some of the "big names" like glk herp.. Well more recognizing the name on king snake and then seeing them in their shirts at the show..

Ill. B posting pix soon as I wont make it back to the show untill the 20th but I'm not leaving without a girl..

Prolly gonna get the lesser as I like the idea of a bel eventually but a pastel, spider or axanthic are all on my list as well.. This is becoming an addiction fast and I don't even have one yet..

However when I was 11 I got a California sunbeam snake that died on me after about 3 years.. Learned later that she prolly wasn't the best for a first snake ever
