    Rat worming and vaccination info.

My rat colony is growing fast and I'm keeping two six tub racks. I'm thinking of selling some and need to know what kind of regulations and vaccinations are required to do so.

There may be variations depending on location, but thus far I've never heard of any vaccinations or worming being required for sold rats.
Why keep a snake? Why keep any animal? Because you enjoy the animal, find something beautiful and fascinating about it, and it fits seamlessly into your lifestyle.

I don't think rats are required to have any sort of vaccinations or worming.

But deworming is a good practice regardless.
You can buy a tube of Horse Dewormer (1.87% Ivermectin) from a feed store. It's only a few dollars for a big tube. ($2-7 depending on brand)
You can give a rice grain size dosage to your rats.

I like to de-worm my breeder rats once a year as a precaution. I'd rather not feed my snakes worm infested food....
Plus it keeps the external parasites off as well. Also, do not use on nursing/pregnant females or pups under 2 weeks old.

I use that for my dogs but I didn't think you could use it on rats.
