    Exclamation collapsed lung? HELP!

Hello, I have a baby ball python. I think she has a collapsed lung. The area where her lung is, is caved in and it has me really worried. I love her to death and I don't want her to die. If you need a picture I can take them in about 12 hours since i'm going to bed... But how can I fix it? Is it fixable? Or will she...die... :'(
I really need to know, I can take her to the vet but I would like to know what you guys think first. I noticed this a week ago.

She just ate, and she is not lazy. When she comes out of the hide she likes to move around, and when I hold her she moves around too. I do not have her in aspin! She is in eco-earth. He tub is not to big, it is slightly larger than a large shoe box, she has two hides, and a water dish... She has a UTH, no light.

Please help me diagnose her... Is it common for Ball pythons to have Collapsed lungs?

I'm just really worried cause I love her more than anything...

That's what I was thinking, don't go to sleep if you have an animal that is possibly dying. Get it to a vet ASAP.

I don't think she is dying... She's breathing fine and is acting fine. But I will be taking her to the vet... I may even stay up and wait till my mother awakes so she can take her and I to the vet... (18 and can't drive!!! )

That is the oddest thing i have ever seen. Agreed a reptile vet ASAP. Is her head in your hand? Or is that the tail?

    Re: collapsed lung? HELP!

I really doubt this is a collapsed lung. Snakes typically only have one functional lung...the other is undeveloped and non functional. You say she is breathing normally and eating well, too? I'd think she'd be showing some sign of distress with something as serious as a collapsed lung. How long have you owned her? When did you notice this "defect", and has her behavior changed since then? Better pictures would be nice, too.

BY the way, you can't really "fix" a collapsed lung. You need to correct the underlying issue that caused the lung to collapse in the first place, assuming there is one, then support the animal, assuming it needs support, until the lung re-inflates on its own.

I have had her since the 22nd of December, though I think she was like that when I got her. Sorry about the crappy photo's, I had to take them with my phone and she was moving around a lot, and I didn't want to stress her out to much since she just ate a mouse last night at 8:30ish.

@KiteDemon That is her head, I held on to her gently though.
