    substrate change needed or not???

    So was wondering when you breed your female ball pythons if you keep them on newspaper or paper towels do you switch to cyprus for egg laying or keep the paper substrate???

    You don't need to change for egg laying. Personally I would just keep them on the paper.

    I keep the paper, and for my last clutch i removed it some days before laying. That way i didnt get any paper on the eggs.

    I stick with the paper towels.Ive never had a prob with them sticking. I use scott shop towels.

    I keep them on paper unless I'm going to be gone when I know she's going to lay, then I put in aspen and mist it to try and keep the humidity up. They will typically move the newspaper out of the way when they lay.
