Cleaning recommendations?
Thought I'd use a Walmart gift card to get some cleaning supplies for my set-up. Any suggestions? I've heard bleach, peroxide, Pinesol, even mouthwash! Thanks!

Before I got f10 I used white vinegar (make sure to wash completely clean after until there's no smell). As an acid it has a ph of around 2.5, so it does a decent job of killing any nasties, is cheap, readily available, and you can use it safely in other areas like the kitchen. Not a great smell though, so rinsing it all off is vital.

This is what I use-

It is very diluted, so a small bottle lasts forever.

Yes. Don't make the mistake I did and buy the 1L bottle. I got it a year and a half ago and have only used 1/4 of the bottle. This should last most people quite a long time and it's cheap.

There are a ton of products out there. General rule of thumb is to avoid any chemical that ends in OL. Pinesol, thymol, for example. These usually used a phenol or derivative of phenol as a principal agent this is highly toxic to reptiles and is difficult to remove once applied. It is a great disinfectant but not around reptiles and amphibians. F10 is an economical product easy and simple to use. It offers great stability with a very broad spectrum kill. It as with almost all disinfectants MUST be used on pre cleaned surfaces so before use a soap/detergent must be used. there are very few that do not require a through wash before use, they are so toxic that use of these agents is very restricted and limited.

I just use white vinegar with water. No issues and cheap to make.

Re: Cleaning recommendations?
I use F10 for a cleaner. Do some web surfing for it. Believe it or not, I found it a lot cheaper on a bird supply store website. F10 is a well known cleaner in many different fields. Hope this helps.
