    Product sales at herp shows?

I'm planning to go to the reptile expo coming up the first weekend of January, but I was wondering... what kind of products are usually for sale there?

My husband and I are planning to start building a rack some time this week, and planning to use the flex-watt tape (unless an alternative is more highly recommended) instead of UTH. We are also planning to invest in some of the higher end thermostats to keep everything running smoothly (have a hydrofarm right now, which works, but I don't like the on/off part about it).

Is it likely the expo will have some of the items we need? (i.e. the thermostats, flex-watt tape...)

We are a little torn. On the one hand if we are likely to get a good deal at the show (and not have to pay shipping) we'd like to wait to buy those items. On the other hand, I'd like to just get the rack set up and ready to go now, just in case we did pick up some snakes at the show (NOT planning on it, but I'm sure we all know how that goes!) I could use the UTH we have now for quarantine of those new arrivals. I've just never been to a reptile expo, and feeling a little lost as to what I should plan on doing. I did find a few online retailers for the products we'll need to get the rack up and running, just torn on whether we should go ahead and order, or wait for the show.

It all depends on who is going to be vending your show. I suggest looking up the vendor list and checking out their websites. Then, you can contact whomever carries the products you need to find out whether they will have them at the show.

Does the expo have a website that lists its vendors? If so, I would look through and see if any business who sells those types of products are there.
Also, if the vendors have e-mail addresses listed, you can contact them to see what kinds of stuff they are bringing.

That's around the same time as the white plains show in NY. If that's the show your going to I can tell you that they have plenty of vendors there with supplies and should have everything you need.

It would be the show in Pomona (L.A. County) not the White Plains show.
There is a website with a list of vendors, I just don't recognize any of the names except the brands that are commonly found in the local stores (such as exo-terra, zoo med, those kinds). I guess I'll just have to take some time to look up contact information for those on the list and go from there. Thanks for the help!
