    Orange ghost question

Ok so two days ago I found a great deal on an 800 gr. male enchi for $100 and the guy was also selling an amazing looking orange ghost female also 800 gr. for $250 so I bought them both go figure. Anyway what can I do with her? It seems like everything I pair her with will be het for ghost. I have two spider girls that are 50% and 66% het for ghost already and that leads to my other question as well. Not understanding the whole % thing.
    normal 1.6
    spider 1.2
    fire 1.1
    phantom 0.1
    pinstripe 2.1
    lesser 3.2
    pastave 1.0
    dinker 1.0
    cinnamon 2.1
    100% het pied 1.2
    pastal 0.1
    blue tongue skink 1.0
    leather back bearded dragon 1.1
    dumeril boa 2.2
    orange ghost 0.1
    enchi 1.0
    albino 1.0
    het albino 0.1

Unless you pair her with something else that is 100% het or a visual ghost (also go by Hypo) that is all you would get are hets. It is a recessive gene meaning both parents have to carry the gene to get a visual. The 50% het is an animal who came from a pairing such as a 100% het X Normal. All the babies are then 50% het because the get 1 gene from each parent. That also means that the 100% het could have given the normal gene as well meaning some of the babies will only be normal. 66% het means the babies came from a 100% het X 100% het pairing. Better chances of being a het because each parent can give the gene but they can also both give the normal gene as well. BTW your female will give the Ghost/Hypo gene to all her offspring so no matter what you breed her to they will all be 100% Het Hypo. That's the basics of it.

If you want to make Hypos you have to breed something hypo or het hypo to her.

a 50% het is made when only 1 parent is a 100% het... This means the babies have a 50/50 shot at actually being a 100% het.

a 66 % het is produced when both parents are 100% hets... This means the babies have a 66% chance at actually being a 100% het.

    What they ^^^^ said

Basically the percentage shows you what chance that animal has for carrying the gene.

So 100% definitely has it and will make visuals when put to a visual or another 100% het.

66% means it has a 66% chance of carrying the gene. So it may or may not have the gene. You would pair it with a visual or 100% het to try and prove if its carrying the gene. If you get any visuals from that pairing then it becomes a 100% het. Because now you know it carries the gene for sure.

Same goes for 50%, 33%, and 25%. Your chances of the animal carrying the gene just goes down significantly the lower the percentage goes.

    Hope this helps

Edit: Looks like people beat me to it while I was typing. I'll just leave it up anyways LOL.

I would find a combo that is het orange ghost or visually orange ghost to breed to your orange ghost.

    For the percentages:

Spider 50% het orange ghost: one of this girl's parents was 100% het orange ghost. When bred to a non-het, you have the potential to produce hets and non-hets.
Let's say the pairing was a spider 100% het orange ghost to a normal.

    You would produce
    spiders 100% het ghost (1:4)
    normals 100% het ghost (1:4)
    spiders (1:4)
    normals (1:4).

Those probabilities are per egg. Per egg, you have a 2:4 (or 1:2) chance of the baby being het ghost, hence the 50% het orange ghost.

Spider 66% het orange ghost: both parents were 100% het orange ghost. Let's say the pairing was a spider 100% het orange ghost to a normal 100% het orange ghost.

Keeping in mind the probabilities are on a per egg basis, you have the potential to produce
    spider ghosts (1:8)
    ghosts (1:8)
    spiders 100% het ghost (2:8)
    normals 100% het ghost (2:8)
    spiders (1:8)
    normals (1:8)

Let's say the animal in the egg is not a visual ghost. That leaves you with 6 possibilities of what you may have, so the probabilities for that one egg change to
    spiders 100% het ghost (2:6)
    normals 100% het ghost (2:6)
    spiders (1:6)
    normals (1:6)

This means that there is a 4 out of 6 chance (or 66%) that the animal you are looking at is het ghost.

    I hope that helps.

    Re: Orange ghost question

Well I didn't really have any plans on doing anything with the hypo, and I just bought her because she is so cool looking. I will probably top shelf her as a pet for now until plans change. Maby in a couple years I will try her with the king pins I am shooting for this year.

Just breed her as a normal. All offspring will just be 100% het ghost. It won't matter what you put to her, everything looks better with ghost in it
