    BP: not eating then searching?

Today got another live because all the pet store had was frozen large -.- said they are getting more rats in on Thursday as they only had about 6 live ones as well,

so I put him in my BP's enclosure and the rat sat in the corner for 30 mins and my BP never came out of his hide, so I took the rat and put him in an old plastic fish tank, I was wondering if maybe he is going to shed so I took out my BP and looked at the tummy its a bit pink (as it has been for a week now) and his eyes are still clear, I showed him the rat and he seemed interested now.

So I put the rat back in with him and he just looked closely (touching it) at the rat, the rat ran over his head and my BP did nothing so I removed the rat again.

After that my BP kept looking around in his hides and all over the cage as if he is looking for the rat but then went back into his hide to sleep.

Usually he is a good eater within 5 minutes of anything being in his cage he will kill/eat it.

Also is it ok to keep the rat in this tiny enclosure until next week?

Will he try to chew through it as well? Posted pics below.

90-92F in warm hide, 82 on cool side.

My guess is the rat will try to chew through. I would try again tomorrow and if no success, see if the place you purchased the rat will take it back. I realize policies differ from place to place, but my source for feeders has told me they will take the mouse or rat back the next day if my bp doesn't eat it. (I've asked specifically because I only have one snake and couldn't figure out what I'd do with a live mouse or rat in case of a refusal.) Always worth asking!

As long as the rat has food and water he will be fine. I kept mine in a bin similar and the rat slept ate and drank water.

Put some shredded newspaper in and it should be okay overnight. Even if you feed f/t it's a good idea to have a little tank or something around just in case.
