    Problem Shed?

My female BP is shedding, and it doesn't appear to be going well. She's nearing 5 months old, is eating well (transitioned from live to f/t before I got her and has eaten 2x for me, no regurg), tub temps are at 90 warm/ 83 cool surface temps with 78-80 ambient and 70% humidity per AcuRite and temp gun. Ultratherm UTH is the heat source and is regulated by a Herpstat 2. I'm currently using paper towels as substrate.

I noticed she was shedding yesterday after thinking a couple days prior that she was maybe just going into blue, i.e., I wasn't even positive it was happening. Genius that I am, it appears I instead missed the more intense blue phase (I've only had her since November 24th and am trying to be good and leave her the heck alone other than a quick "Okay, snake breathing? Good!" check) and only caught the tail end of it. So I looked her over last night and she had successfully shed the top of her head including eye caps. At least that's what it looks like -- it's hard to tell because along with her shedding she also left a massive "movement" in her tub and boatloads of urates (her first of the solid waste, and the 3rd urates passing), most of which she managed to deposit on top of her shed to the point where I couldn't check it (but I don't see any "spectacle" rings). From her neck down, though, she hadn't shed.

I read the stickies in the forums about shedding and shedding problems, so I left her alone last night to let her try to finish it off on her own. I boosted her humidity to 83-86% by moving her water bowl to the warm side of her tub, and put her log where I thought she could perhaps reach it better to scrape against. When I came home from work she'd managed to remove a bit more, but she still had a significant hunk stuck on her neck and down her back. So I soaked her in the bathtub for 20 minutes (supervised), and afterward tried rubbing the shed off with a towel. I got a bit off, but the majority of it is still stuck.

I was worried I would hurt her (I'm not sure if part of her shedding means it's all ready to come off or if it's like a sunburn peeling where some is ready and some isn't) so I stopped, cleaned her tub again, changed her water (put it back on the warm side), dampened some paper towels and left them on top of her warm hide to hopefully boost humidity more, and my current plan is to soak her again tomorrow night if she hasn't worked the rest of her shed off before then.

Is there anything else I can do? My snake bag appears to be a fairly dense weave and I'm really hesitant to dampen it for fear she'll suffocate. I might have a looser weave pillowcase, if that method is preferable to soaking in a tub.

I'm just concerned. Here I was thinking my humidity was running too high (no condensation on the tub anywhere), and now we've got a piecemeal stuck shed! I'm at a loss

Thank you for any input you're able to give. Sorry to freak out, but I'm totally having a new owner moment.
