New Leo (Help)
I bought him/her on a bit of an impulse. I already have all the habitat all set up, but I seem to have lost the leopard gecko forum I was using as a reference.
1) What do I use to gutload the mealworms?
2) If I am dusting with a calcium/d3 supplement do I still need to include a dish of calcium powder?
3) How often/how much do I feed a juvenile versus an adult?
4) How often do I dust prey for a juvenile versus an adult?
The little guy/gal I bought is black and gray with no apparent yellow. What are some common morphs that he/she could be?

I house my meal worms in a steralite container with oats as substrate (they will eat it) . I also place a couple of pieces of carrot for water. No idea what morph, some can look completely black and grey during shed. I use rhapashy. They should have a dish of calcium available as they will lick it.Geckoforums.net

Thanks iCandi. The forum I lost was leopardgeckoforum.com which is apparently suspended or something. How big should the calcium dish be?

Not sure if this is a correct feeding practice or not, but since we have 1 cricket eating lizard and I buy 1000 crickets at a time (thank you online suppliers ) I just get a handful any time I feel like watching him eat and toss them in (2 handfuls a day maybe?). He's full grown now, and it's just plain fun to watch him stalk bugs. Now that I'm using crickets as a staple I put a calcium powder dish in there, but when I was using phoenix worms I didn't bother. Once I use up my rep-cal I'll be switching to Repashy calcium plus and do away with the dish (if I'm dusting daily I don't see how our single non-breeding gecko would be too terribly off without it). He's something of a bottomless pit, I couldn't tell you how many he gets exactly (maybe 5-10 crickets per handful?) but I keep a bit of carrot in his tank in case there are crickets hiding out.
It's stinking adorable how big his eyes get when he sees the top of the tank lift up, and he whips around looking at my hands like "MANA FROM ABOVE! Where'd they go?!"
Not an expert by any means, but this has been working out pretty well for us. It's technically my boyfriend's daughter's gecko, but she's a little more interested in fuzzy things even with allergies, so I've been doing a lot of the daily care. I like the little guy!

Yw. I use bottle caps for calcium as they have a tendency to strow it or dig in it. I feed dusted meal worms and occasionally wax worms as I despise crickets. I would recommend placing the feeders in a dish. Crickets or mealworms will chew on reptiles if left unattended.

Hi meowmeowkazoo
1) Use Carrots there the best
2) I have always a bottle cup filled with calcium without d3 in there terrarium
3) almost the same amount and you feed twice a week
4) you should dust every time you feed your gecko that is very important even if it is a juvenile or an adult
