do any of you that keep your herps(any kind) in a display case gather your own decoratios? ie roscks, logs, sticks...thind of that nature? and if so, do you clean or prep them in any way before putting them in your animals vivs? i have one stick that i cut off my grandmas lilac bush 20 years ago for an iguana that i have use in one way or another for just about every snake, lizard or turtle i have owned since then. that stick has made the rounds. it started out not looking to nice but it has a cool shape and over time it looks like one that would cost 30 bucks at a pet shop. it is currently in my carpets viv and is the only place she wants to hang out. she perches on it 24/7. as a kid i had tons of wild caught lizards, snakes and tarantulas and always just gathered up some decorations of the cages from the area i caught them in. since then, other than my one stick, i've bought supplies and decorations.
anyway, i guess what i'm getting at is, my crestie needs a new climbing stick and i have some nice shrubs that would yield a good one. should i do anything other than soak and scrub the thing to make sure its safe to put in her viv?
