    Incubator Project Questions

Hello everyone. This year should be my first year breeding and I am working on getting my incubator project up and running in the best way possible. Here is what it looks like after its all cleaned out.

I know that temps should be between 88 and 90 and humidity at 100%. This fridge is pretty small and good enough for now.

Question 1: As you can see in this pic it is big enough to fit 4 6qt tubs in it. I see a lot of people have their fan in the top of their incubator. I can do that if I only use 3 tubs. Would it still be fine using the fan in the bottom on one side or the other?

Question 2: I will be using 11” flexwatt on the back and down to the bottom. Where would the best place to put the probe for the thermostat? Directly on the flexwatt since I can’t put it right down the middle? I know I would probably have an acurite to checking the temps in the tubs.

Thank you for all your replies.

    Re: Incubator Project Questions

Looks similar to mine except mine only holds 3 / 6qt tubs. I would put the probe on the middle shelf and secure it with a tie wrap. I debated about installing a fan but I don't think it is necessary given there is not much space inside. Temps should be pretty stable. If you are using 11" heat tape a foot or foot and half should be fine.
