Asian vine snake

Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I'm just curious as to if anyone has any Asian vine snakes.

I find them fascinating and hope to make a nice display for one eventually.

Would love to see some setups if anyone has one.

Its something I was very interested in getting, but unfortunately without special permission they are illegal in Bayern Germany.

I know they are a rear fanged snake. But I'm not sure they are considered an actual venomous snake. I see people handling them in tons of pictures, so I assume they can't be deadly.

I still have to look into NY law but I don't think I've seen them on the list.

Hope they aren't. I have a nice 36 bow front tank that would look great as a Asian inspired vivarium.

I knew they were rear fanged. And I think your right on the hog similarity.

I have been doing alot of research on rear fanged coloubrids, which from my understanding are all considered venomous. They only thing is they have under developed delivery systems or lack the quantity of venom to harm a human. This is not the case for all, some can be quite deadly. I personally look at it this way, it is a venomous animal, treat it as one. Last thing we need is someone in the hospital because they thought their snake was "harmless". But again, thats me.

I know they can cause some adverse affects if bitten, but with rear fanged snakes they need to actually chew to inject anything. I wouldn't be treating it like a ball python that's for sure.

Was not implying that you would. Im in the process of finding what I can legally hold here, there is a list that requires permits that covers all of Bayern, but aparently every city can add what they want to that list, and the city I live in does not want to answer my inquiries. I love the Ahaetulla, if you get one definately post pics! I also hear they can be trouble feeders and sometimes need to be started off on small geckos as aparently most are wild caught.

From what I've read they should be solely on feeder anoles and other small lizards.
