2.5 for 3!!!

Have had my 3 new hatchlings for almost 3 days now and decided I'd try to offer a F/T rat pup to each of them. I usually wait 5 days, but figured it couldn't hurt.

The Fire Mojave struck/coiled pretty quickly but couldn't quite finish the deed. Offered twice more, but no luck.

The Back Bee wanted nothing to do with it, so I offered it to the Pastel. Quick strike and he quickly gulped it down.

Thawed one more rat pup and offered it to the Black Bee who ended up taking it without to much Zombie Dancing!

So... 3 successful F/T strikes, and 2 fully fed! 0 wasted. I have high hopes of having them all converted to F/T by their next feeding. That's my best/fastest record yet...

*Knock on wood* Watch me end up with 2 live mousers and an ASFer.... =)

Congrats -- that's awesome! Meanwhile I'm sitting here, biting my nails, hoping my babies are eating their f/t rat pups. They struck and coiled, but by the time I left the male had let his go and was inspecting it closely. Their prior f/t experiences were ASFs -- and I thawed the rat pups with ASFs, hoping that would work. My husband is in there staring at them (and I'm convinced making them nervous); meanwhile the suspense is killing me, but some of us are trying to give the snakes some privacy!

*Ahem* anyway, not about me Way to go on the f/t success!!!

Was a tad-bit disappointed when my Fire Mojave couldn't find the head and got distracted when I peeked in. I definitely blame myself for that one. If I had waited a couple more minutes, she probably would have figured it out. I'm convinced my movement distracted her. heh

Definitely trying to stay away from ASF here. That's the last thing I need deal with switching off of. hehe

Well, my female sucked down her rat pup once she was sure it was good and dead (she takes a little convincing). Meanwhile, the male meandered around the cage and pushed his pup with his nose and apparently kept trying to eat its front paw which went about as well as you'd expect. So my (nosy) husband decided he'd re-present the pup to the male, and lo and behold, he ate!

Guess that man knew what he was doing after all -- and actually he's pretty bright Whew!! No more ASFs!!! I hope. *fingers crossed*

Yours will get it. She almost had it!!
