Not long joined here and noticed a few familiar names from the old Scottish Exotic Reptiles Forum (SERF) so figured would be good to put up a post explaining what happened etc (Thanks JLC for letting me post this!).
As you have probably guessed the forum is no longer up and pretty much disappeared with no warning. The owner of the forum Mark closed the forum with no notice to anyone (admin and mods included) so no one really got the chance or opportunity to sort things out. Its a shame as since taking over I was working closely with the other mods to ensure that the forum would be able to stay live, and we were getting things more active again etc. Even after its closure I did try to get Mark to turn it completely over to me so that it could remain open but for whatever reason he did not want to do this and there was no further responses to any of my suggestions/questions.
So just a wee post to say that SERF is sadly no more, some good times were had, some big laughs and some good friends made so it is and will continue to be missed. For those interested we are still running the Facebook page although due to the sudden closure of the forum there is only a fraction of the members we had as not many people knew it existed. Hopefully we can get more familiar faces back so spread the word to any friends etc who were members, here's a link to the group:

It is a closed group but if you ask to join I will approve you (had to make it a closed group to stop the usual troublemakers) lol. Hopefully see and speak to some more of the old SERF crew on the group and on here
