    Mouser No Longer !

We finally fed all our Hopper Mice to Avalon last week and moved her up to a Rat Pup this week.. We were up to 4 Hoppers a feeding.. Anyways, She didn't even blink, haha, as soon as we put the pup on the feeder tongs and offered it to her, she struck and rolled it up. She didn't even hesitate..

Now we have the same problem with the Rat Pups, they're to small for her weight.. We purchased them at the 1st of the November at a local show. I picked Pups as the size to feed her by using 15% of her weight and also using an online chart. This chart said that Pups weighed 20-30 grams... We get the "Pups" home and weighed them and they were only 13 grams.. I did have the vendor pick out the smaller ones so it didn't shock Avalon with a huge size increase from the Mice Hoppers.. She weighs 173 grams now, so I guess we'll feed her every 4 days or so try feeding 2 Pups till I get to get a larger sized rat..

Anyways, at least we're lucky and don't have one of the stubborn BP's that refuse rats.

    Thanks for reading, Bill

    Re: Mouser No Longer !

So far she eats great. We've only had her since Sept. 1st, but she hasn't missed a meal other than the 1st week after we brought her home.
