My new snake came this morning. He is awesome. I got him at about 10:00am pacific time. I was laying in bed awake with huge butterflies in my stomach when he got here. Anyway, I carefully opened the box and he was inside a small plastic container. He was very alert, moving around, flicking his tongue. He is so small and cute!

So there were about 8 staples securing the plastic container, so it took a while for me and my boyfriend to get them all out. We did it slowly and carefully so as not to scare him, but he didn't seem scared at all. He was still moving around trying to get out.

Once I got the top off, I carefully picked him up. He seems really healthy. He's much bulkier than my last snake and felt really strong in my hands. I put him right in his enclosure, and he hasn't stopped moving since. He's been exploring all over, or trying to find a way out is more like it. He went in his warm hide for a minute, but then came right back out again and is still moving around right now. I'm so happy! He is great. I'm going to post pictures in the picture forum.
