Handling question
Ok so you guys have taught me a LOT since I've gotten my little guy a month or two ago. He's eating excellent for me (switched him from live @ breeders to f/t) and is a pig. I thank you all for your help and this is such a great little community!
Anyway, so this is my first snake. I've held snakes here and there, like big ones at the zoo and some at the pet store but not for very long. So I'm kind of asking here, what is the best way to hold him? Sounds really stupid but I almost feel like I'm "doing it wrong" .... lmao if that's even possible. Or maybe it could be the snake? He's a bumblebee with NO sign of wobbles at all, but when I handle him it's almost like he twists and turns upside down and doesn't really care where his body is in space. Is it normal for him to do that kind of stuff? I could be totally over analyzing this but it just seems weird to me lol. He'll sit in my hand and slowly explore and do snake things, but I just didn't think it was normal for them to turn upside down and almost get knotted up? LOL I hope that makes sense.

While I do not own a BP, I know both my Brazilian Rainbow Boa and corn snake do not really care what position they put themselves in. They could be right side up, up side down, sideways, diagonal, etc and it doesn't matter. My BRB even makes almost 8's out of herself (with the help of my arm).
I hope that helps you, although I may be wrong and BP owners will correct me (things can be different among various kinds of snakes).

I usually pick up my smaller snakes around the middle section to left them out of their cage, then I let them hang out on my arm. With larger snakes I use both hands and let them slip through my hands.

Re: Handling question
With spiders, if they sit/act/do something that looks strange, it's probably because they are a spider. My female spider does the same thing. Don't worry about it! It's just their small little quirks. As long as you are supporting his body and not letting him dangle or fall, I'm sure your holding him fine!

Re: Handling question
Sometimes it takes them longer to adjust to being handled, and not all snakes enjoy handling as much as others. What you're describing sounds like a snake that just hasn't adjusted to being handled yet. Patience, and try and support as much of the snake's body as you can while you're holding it. If you're supporting the snake's body and otherwise handling it in a calm manner, it should be just fine - just needs more time to get accustomed to handling.
