Undigested rat poop
My YB male, just pooped for the third time this week a very small piece of undigested rat. It smells horrible, and theres urine with it. Iīve never seen this before, heīs been with me for a year now,itīs a good eater, husbandry is ok, he eats f/t rats. Last meal he was in shed, but lost of my balls eat during the shed and never had a problem before. Any inputs will be appreciated.

You are positive that there are urates with the poop? I ask because it sounds like a regurge more than a poop. I can't think of why it would have been passed in an undigested state if your temps are good to go. Do you use a t-stat and what do you measure your temps with?

Cause we would all love to see a picture of half digested snake poop/vomit.
If it was accompanied by a horrifying smell then it was a regurg.

Unless it was my new female hypo Nicaraguan boa cuz HOLY WOW her poo reaks!
But anyway.. Did it smell like road kill? If so, it's regurge. If it just smelled like like really stinky snake poo then maybe the meal was a bit large or the temperature was not warm enough for complete digestion?

Iīm very positive of it being poop and not a regurge. I didnt take a picture, but i was like a bird poop, with urates and undefined guts. He was off feed for the last month, and that was his first rat. But then again, all the others go off feed and never do that. I do have a T-stat and a thermometer, itīs a rack with ten balls, all great.
Parasites maybe?
Last december he was 150gms, now heīs 600 gms, wich means heīs growing ok. Iīm lost, I think iīll just keep an eye on him hoping it was a one time thing.

The rodent could have not been thawed thoroughly, or could have accumulated bacteria during thawing?

If his temps are straight and you're confident that it was a bowel movement and not a regurge, I'd just sit back on this one and wait for his next movement. If the same issue comes up again, vet time. In the meanwhile, just keep an eye on the little guy.

I killed the rats myself before freezen them, and they were thawed in warm water for 30min +/-, like always. However, I dont check every single rat with my hands, just the bigger ones, assuming the smaller ones are already thawed.

I guess thatīs the only thing to do. He pass this weeks rat, so Iīll have to wait.
