I have been really considering getting a GTP as a display snake. They are just gorgeous and I love how creative you can go with the cage decorating.
I know it's better for the cage to be wider rather than taller. I have read that the cage shouldn't be higher than 3' because the water dish was on the ground and the snakes are less likely to drink if they have climb that far of a distance down, But if I bought a cage that was 3' wide by 3' tall by 18" or 2' deep, and somehow attached a water dish higher up on the side of the cage (as well as one on the ground). I could figure out some kind of coupling to hold a water dish to the side of the cage. My boyfriend and I were just thinking about that because there would be more plant decorating possibilities if we had as more vertical room to work with, as well as horizontal room. Is there any other reasons that those dimensions would not work? We would always have a cage that would be about 3' wide no matter what the height.
