Question about Eco-Earch (Making the switch)
Hey guys, as winter approaches humidity is getting more and more difficult to keep up, so I decided to try switching to Eco-Earth. I added water to the brick and got a nice bucket of dirt, but the pet store owner told me I might house bugs by using dirt, and that I should be careful to make sure it dries. I've let it sit for a few days now, it is still a moist dirt, not dry, but not soaking. Is it safe to the throw the eco-earth in there or should it be pretty dry?
And what do you think of the store owner's complaint with Eco-Earth?
Thanks in advance,
Xaz.

I have never had bugs in my Eco Earth? Also if you let it dry you will not be adding any humidity to your enclosure

That is also what I thought.
But figured I should mist the dirt instead if I was supposed to let it dry. I will happily add the soil in lol. Thanks.

I wouldn't be worried about bugs. You can put it straight into the cage when wet. Just don't keep it wet 24/7. Let it dry out then rewet, cycle it, that will prevent stuff from growing in it.

Op, are you referring to the Eco earth as "dirt" or actual dirt from outside? You shouldn't have bugs in Eco earth. But dirt, actual "earth" from the outdoors, I would never put in with my snakes.
