    Ceramic Heat Emitters

Do ceramic heat emitters have to have a special type of lamp?

Yes a ceramic fixture that is rated for higher wattage (heat) than normal plastic types.

I believe this is the one I have. If not, it's very similar. The sticker says 150 watts. Would that be acceptable?

    Re: Ceramic Heat Emitters

The base of the fixture can take 150 watts, but you'll have to make sure the dome is large enough for the bulb. The 5.5" domes aren't big enough, but if you have an 8.5" it should be alright for up to 100 watt ceramic fixtures. Larger bulbs will naturally need a larger dome.

that is fine as long as it isn't over the wattage and the dome clears the bulb.
