Ok I know your thinking take it to the vet for christ's sake, but hear the circumstances.
My GTP, who is about 5-6yrs/old, just shed his skin 2days ago, and also excreted his meal of rats from a couple weeks back. Stool was NOT bloody but this morning I check on him like I always do and there is some blood mixed in with this clear slimy substance. Enough to pick up with 2 paper towel sheets.
This was incredibly alarming to me as it's never happened before. A couple years back his rectum prolapsed but that was fixed by the vet.
I'm only asking here before scheduling appt to see if anyone owning a GTP might have experienced this before, or any snake owner for that matter! He is absolutely fine now at least on the ode and isnt 'squirming or acting strange.q
Id come 3 days ago and my room was almost 90degrees meaning his cage got over 100 because the heating pad was way to hot for the room temp. He was laying on the floor of the cage which immediately freaked me out because they never do that unless ill. I took him out and let him hang for awhile to cool down, and he was fine, at least externally.
Could something have happened internally when it was really hot? Like I said now everything's normal. Just wondering where the blood must have come from.
